Gagaga, 80, lives in rural eSwatini (formerly known as Swaziland) with his son, daughter-in-law, and five grandchildren.
His wife passed away years ago, as have three of the couple’s nine children.
Several months ago, a stroke affected Gagaga’s speech and ability to walk. His daughter-in-law serves as his primary caregiver, and one of his daughters also comes to help each day.
A team from our local distribution partner held a medical outreach in Gagaga’s community and fitted him with a brand-new GEN_2 wheelchair. After assembling it to Gagaga’s size, they gently lifted him off the ground and into the seat, adjusting the footrests and seat belt for a perfect fit.
As he settled into his seat, he clasped his hands and mustered a sweet smile in gratitude. “We’re very thankful to be given this wheelchair,” said his daughter-in-law. “It’s special.”
Thank you for all you do to provide a special place for people like Gagaga.
Blessings,
