We have a simple solution to address the basic mobility needs of millions living with disabilities in the developing world: a cost-effective and durable wheelchair.

All four of our wheelchair models are designed to be rugged, withstanding the daily challenges faced in many parts of the developing world. Our thoughtful approach to engineering and distribution allows us to maximize impact worldwide—providing mobility along with renewed dignity, independence, freedom, and joy.

Maintenance
Constructed primarily from aluminum, the frame offers improved resistance to rust—especially useful in humid environments. Durability testing suggests that the GEN 4 JOY lasts up to twice as long as previous models. Includes air pump and tool kit.

Assembly Time
Wheelchairs arrive mostly pre-assembled; final setup takes approximately 15 minutes.

Footrest Adjustability
Fixed footrest with flip-up footplates, adjustable for both depth and angle

Wheels / Tires
Rear wheels: 26" quick-release with 21.3" powder-coated steel hand rims and pneumatic tires.
Rear wheel positions: Two placement options.
Front casters: 6" polyurethane (XS); 8" polyurethane (S–XXL)

Harness
Optional seatbelt with quick-release buckle for users needing extra postural support

Seating
Lower seat with adjustable depth to support easier transfers and reduce fall risk

Propulsion
Self-propulsion via push-rims or attendant propulsion with included push handles

Independent steel locking system on each rear wheel
