Road Trip for Mobility

July 1st–15th

Peru missionary Nick Balcombe and friends drove from Lima, Peru, to Ushuaia, Argentina at the tip of South America on a road trip to raise funds for wheelchairs.

Chef Works Cares

July 5th

Chef Works Cares, the charitable arm of Chef Works, announced that Free Wheelchair Mission is one of four recipients of its 2019 Chef Works Cares grant awards. “We’re ecstatic about the four groups we selected because their dedication is unwavering and their causes are inspiring,” said Cynthia McCormick, HR vice president for Chef Works, who chairs the Chef Works Cares grant committee. “We are in awe of what the people at Free Wheelchair Mission are doing.”

Birthday Party with a Purpose

July 20th

FWM Ambassador Jenean Hill (2nd from left, dancing with her husband, Gary) kicked off a fundraiser with 36 wheelchairs donated at her birthday party in Lake Forest, CA. Another donor matched the gift, and a total of 108 wheelchairs were raised! Happy birthday, Jenean—and thank you for all you do to provide the gift of mobility to others!

Nuka Solomon Promoted to CEO of Free Wheelchair Mission

A Record-Breaking Miracle of Mobility

The 16th Annual Miracle of Mobility Gala was the biggest one yet, raising a record-breaking $1.8 million and providing wheelchairs to 22,500 people in need around the world. Bowling for Mobility

July 25th

Thanks to the generosity of friends at Cushman & Wakefield, who held a fundraiser at a staff bowling party, 14 people living with a disability will soon receive the gift of a wheelchair.

Wheelchair Arrivals

July 2019

Eight containers of wheelchairs arrived at port in Guatemala, Uganda, and China during the month of July. More than 4,000 people living with disabilities in these countries will soon receive the gift of mobility.
