Irene (right) is a 79-year-old grandmother in Eswatini, the African nation formerly known as Swaziland.
A quiet, humble woman, Irene has been a homemaker for much of her life. Her family means everything to her.
Irene lost mobility when she was seriously injured in a fall several years ago.
Her granddaughter, who lives with her and takes care of her, brought her to a wheelchair distribution held by The Luke Commission (TLC), our local distribution partner. There, Irene was fitted with a new GEN_2 wheelchair.
To date, more than 6,300 individuals like Irene have received the gift of a wheelchair in Eswatini, thanks to the generosity of friends like you.
