Dan Ryan

Dan joined Free Wheelchair Mission in 2026 as director of manufacturing, bringing more than 20 years of experience as a senior operations leader across medical device, pharmaceutical, and lab-based diagnostics manufacturing. His background includes leadership roles at organizations such as Southern Research, Luminex, Stryker, and others, where he led complex, multi-site operations, large-scale facility expansions, and operational transformations. At Free Wheelchair Mission, Dan oversees global manufacturing strategy, applying his expertise in facilities design, supply chain management, process improvement, quality, and compliance to support the organization’s growing global impact.

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Eastern Illinois University and has earned multiple professional certifications, including ISO 13485 Lead Auditor, with vast FDA compliance experience. He lives outside of Birmingham, Alabama, with his wife, Amanda, and their two daughters. As a family, they enjoy traveling the country in their RV and have visited nearly half of the continental United States, often accompanied by their dogs. Dan is passionate about leadership, mentoring, and understanding the human experience.
