Step 3 – Attend mandatory pre-trip trainings in Irvine (or video conference)

Trip participants understand their roles as servants and embrace the opportunity to provide service to those in need.

As such, we require all participants to attend two training sessions before departure to prepare you for your trip, which will be led by your trip leader.

At these trainings, you will meet your vision trip team and learn how to build wheelchairs. You will also learn about how to ensure a proper fit for the recipients you will meet. You will also be provided with a detailed vision trip manual and Free Wheelchair Mission vision trip shirt.

Remember that you are not expected to be an expert wheelchair builder. You will work alongside the distribution partner's team, and they will be the ones leading and directing you during your trip.

Wheelchairs are a very important part of your trip, however, in most cases, the people you meet and deliver a wheelchair to will also be impacted by simply meeting you.
