Team Mobility Newsletter

May 20, 2026

With just 11 days to go, the energy is building — and there's still plenty of time to make a big impact! This week and next, let's focus on giving your fundraiser the push it deserves to finish strong.

If you missed any of our previous newsletters, you can catch up here:
  • Newsletter—April 22, 2026
  • Newsletter—April 29, 2026

Congrats to Our First Finisher!

Congratulations to Randy Crane (photo above) for finishing the OC Half-Marathon as part of Move for Mobility! His results are posted on our celebration board.

When you finish your Move for Mobility, don't forget to upload your results here. You'll also be listed on our celebration board—and you'll be mailed your special edition 25th Anniversary Pin (US mailing addresses only)!

Make Some Noise on Social Media

With just a little more than one week left, your network needs to hear from you — more than once. Don't worry about posting too much. People are busy, and a reminder is not a burden. It's an invitation.

A few post ideas to keep things fresh this week:
  • The countdown post—"11 days left in my Move for Mobility challenge! Still accepting donations at [link]"
  • The impact post—"Did you know a brand-new wheelchair costs just $108? Every dollar I raise gets us closer to changing someone's life."
  • The thank-you post—Publicly thank your donors by name (with their permission) and let it inspire others to give
  • The behind-the-scenes post—A candid training photo or a quick video update showing you're still out there doing the work
Aim to post at least two or three more times across whatever platforms you're most active on.

Check out this fun post by our social media coordinator, Braden, for some inspiration!

If you need more ideas for posting, download our tool kit or check out FreeWheelchairMission.org/movetools/.

Follow Up Personally

Social media is great, but don't underestimate the power of a direct message, text, or email—especially for people who aren't active on social, or who said "I'll donate soon!" A friendly, personal nudge is often all it takes.

Think of two or three people you haven't reached yet, or who mentioned they'd give, and send them something short, like:

"Hi [Name], I'm participating in Move for Mobility to raise funds for Free Wheelchair Mission, which provides wheelchairs to people in need around the world. I only have 11 days left and I'm so close to my goal. Would you consider making a donation? Even a small amount makes a real difference. Here's my page: [link]. Thank you so much!"

No guilt, no pressure—just a warm reminder from someone they care about.
