Magnitude 7.2 Earthquake Hits Haiti

On August 14, 2021, a 7.2 earthquake struck Haiti, a country already devastated by the pandemic, political upheaval, and economic hardships.

More than 1,200 lives have been confirmed lost to this latest disaster, as of this writing.

Please join us in praying for Haiti, which was still trying to recover from the devastating earthquake that hit in 2010.

Pray for the safety and health of our families, partners, and especially those whom we serve in Haiti, living with disabilities. With our local distribution partners, we have delivered 15,458 wheelchairs to those living with disabilities in Haiti, so it is a country close to our hearts.

Our partners in Haiti receiving a container of wheelchairs earlier this summer.

I also have family members in Haiti and ask that you please keep them in your prayers, too.

When earthquakes and natural disasters strike, it is often those living with disabilities who are the most vulnerable. Without mobility, they may not be able to flee from danger, seek refuge, or travel to receive medical care.
