Wheelchairs Reach Ukraine

November 2022

In partnership with Invacare Europe, Free Wheelchair Mission sent more than 1,000 Invacare Action 1R wheelchairs to Ukraine.

These wheelchairs safely arrived at a warehouse in L’viv, Ukraine and are being distributed to individuals in the country.

As the ongoing war continues to cause devastation and people with disabilities are often most vulnerable in situations like this, we continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Story of a Life Transformed

November 11

Nancy (10, Kenya) was born with spina bifida, a condition in which the spine and spinal cord do not form properly while in the womb. She has never been able to walk.

Her supportive parents do whatever they can to help their beloved daughter live her life to its fullest. They wished for her to have a wheelchair, which would make it much easier for her to go to school, but they just could not afford one on their modest earnings.

But that isn’t the end of Nancy’s story. Read more on our blog.
