Hundreds of runners stopped by the FWM expo booth for free popsicles and information about running for Team Mobility at the next Run For Mobility.
In the Highlands of Ecuador

A team from Chicago embarked on a vision trip to distribute wheelchairs in the volcanic region of Ecuador.

The Blackstone Meatball in Omaha, Nebraska donated 10% of all sales on October 16th to give the gift of mobility.
Right at Home in Costa Rica

On another October vision trip, a team from Right at Home (RAH) saw firsthand the impact their gifts are making for people with disabilities in Costa Rica.
Two Containers x2
October 19th
Our friends at Network of Caring generously donated two containers of wheelchairs — and, because it was during October’s x2 Gift Challenge, their donation was matched, yielding a total of four containers of wheelchairs.
Don Speaks at Stanford University
October 30th
The Stanford Social Entrepreneurial Students’ Association (SENSA) invited Don Schoendorfer to speak at their biannual series, “Very Impactful People (VIP): Social Innovation and the Social Entrepreneur.” Read more about it here.
Staff Costume Contest
October 31st
In a fun, annual tradition, our staff dresses up on October 31st and votes for best costume. Founder Don Schoendorfer won for his wheelchair-test-dummy suit.
Seven Containers of Wheelchairs Arrived
Throughout October, seven containers of wheelchairs arrived at port in South Africa, Vietnam, and China. FWM distribution partners in each country will soon assemble and fit each wheelchair to its individual recipient.
