At the Miracle of Mobility gala in 2017, one of our special guests was a young woman from Vietnam named Hien, who was then a 19-year-old graphic design student.

Hien is now 21 and works at a luxury beach resort in Da Nang, Vietnam.

“Since I took part in Miracle of Mobility, I graduated from school and began to intern at this resort,” Hien recently shared with us. “My coworkers welcomed me warmly and helped me in any way that they could. They would carry me into the restroom for the first two weeks, until the head of the resort constructed a wheelchair-accessible restroom for me to use.”

After completing an eight-month internship, Hien was hired full-time by the resort, where she coordinates and dispatches housekeeping staff.

“I sincerely appreciate the wheelchair given to me by Free Wheelchair Mission and wish good health and success to all the donors,” said Hien. “I hope this organization will continue to support others who face similar circumstances as me all over the world.”

We can—and we will—continue, but only with the help of friends like you.

Thank you for choosing to partner with us as we empower individuals like Hien with the gift of mobility.
