Rei, a 13-year-old in Kenya, was born with cerebral palsy and has faced mobility challenges since birth. He is the eldest of three siblings, living with their mother on the outskirts of Nairobi.
For years, Rei used an old wheelchair provided by his church. It was too small and uncomfortable, so at school, he often had to sit in a plastic chair instead—which, as you can imagine, made moving around and participating in class a real challenge.
But thanks to friends like you, Rei received a brand-new GEN 3 wheelchair from one of our local distribution partners, Bethany Kids. After trying it for the first time, his mother exclaimed, “Rei’s life is now transformed! My brilliant son will now learn comfortably.”
Rei, beaming, said he felt more confident and ready to excel, joking that he would now be “more brilliant and intelligent.”

The new wheelchairs you make possible provide more than just mobility—they give users a newfound independence, renewed self-esteem, and the ability to attend school, work, and social activities
The gift of mobility empowers individuals like Rei to shine even more brightly and be “more brilliant.”
Rei and his mother returned home in his new wheelchair, filled with joy and gratitude, and their story is just one example of how your prayers and generosity are making a life-changing difference.
Thank you for partnering with us to transform lives, one wheelchair at a time.
