Free Wheelchair Mission couldn’t do what we do without friends like you.

The passion and creativity of our supporters never cease to inspire us. On October 17, our ambassadors in Washington State held Seattle’s Miracle of Mobility, a streaming event that set out to raise funds for 1,000 wheelchairs.

This annual fundraiser began almost 15 years ago when a member of Evergreen Covenant Church set out to do “something great” to raise funds for Free Wheelchair Mission. Our community in Seattle has been growing ever since, with more than 19,000 lives transformed by the gift of a wheelchair thanks to their efforts!

We asked some of our supporters in Seattle why they partner with us, and here’s what they said:

And in Southern California, the Felix family set out to raise money to provide eight wheelchairs.

The entire family got involved—even Lacey, the family Labrador! On October 3, they held a neighborhood fundraiser with a drive-thru stand for lemonade, cookies, handmade accessories, and kisses from Lacey.

Not only did they reach their goal, they surpassed it by more than twice the original amount! And, because it’s October, the funds they raised have been doubled in our x2 Gift Challenge.

This means that instead of just eight wheelchairs—their original goal—the Felix family’s efforts are providing more than 35 wheelchairs!

That’s at least 35 lives changed by having the gift of mobility, thanks to this family’s passion, dedication, and creativity.

Meet Gus, Kory, Leia, Perri Mae, and Lacey!
