Ten-year-old Daniela in Guatemala lives in a simple home with her parents and two older brothers. Like many in their rural community, their home has a dirt floor and limited resources.

At just two years old, Daniela was diagnosed with a muscular condition that gradually weakened her muscles. Her family was once able to rent a wheelchair, but could only afford it for eight months. After that, Daniela had no choice but to crawl or be carried everywhere.

Without a wheelchair, attending school was beyond her reach. Instead, she would stay home with her mother, Marisol, who helped her with daily routines—bathing, dressing, and ensuring she didn’t get hurt.

So when Daniela received a brand-new wheelchair from our local partner, Faith In Practice, it was a moment of overwhelming joy for her entire family.

“May God bless you for helping us with Daniela,” her mother exclaimed. “She really needs the wheelchair. It will make a huge difference in her life. She does not have to crawl everywhere anymore, and she can go out and play with other children. She will also be able to go to school!”

Daniela is known for her cheerful spirit—she loves to talk, laugh, and make new friends. Now, with her new wheelchair, she’s ready to explore her world and share her joy even more freely.

Thank you for making stories like Daniela’s possible!
