Container Unloaded in Kenya

Our distribution partner, the Walkabout Foundation, received a container of wheelchairs. Special thanks to everyone who worked hard to get this through a challenging importation process!

Remote Training Completed in Haiti

Despite ongoing health and safety challenges in Haiti, our distribution partner The Walkabout Foundation was able to successfully complete remote training by the Free Wheelchair Mission team.

Featured Story—Malakondiah in India

Malakondiah’s wife works as a laborer while he operates a small print shop in his neighborhood. He could not go too far from his home to earn a living because a bout with polio left him without mobility, and without a wheelchair, he would crawl to and from work each day.But that isn’t the end of his story. Container Arrival in Brazil

A container of 550 wheelchairs arrived in Brazil, imported by our local distribution partner, Rotary Club de Maringa. 

Online Training Module Rollout

Our programs team released new online modules that offer basic wheelchair training in English. These modules will help train our network of distribution partners in the wheelchair provision process, including the assessment of potential recipients, wheelchair assembly and fit, and wheelchair user training.

A Record-Setting Move for Mobility

May 1-31

Thanks to everyone who ran, rolled, walked, hiked, kayaked, cycled, did yoga, and more, this year’s Move for Mobility smashed through our original goal of $56,000 and raised $82,867, providing 1,035 new wheelchairs and setting a new record for this annual event!
