John is 15 years old and lives with his family in a small rental home on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya.
The oldest of four children, he was born with cerebral palsy, a condition that affects coordination and often makes it difficult to sit comfortably or move independently.
From an early age, John showed determination and a love for learning. His mother proudly describes him as “brilliant and intelligent.” For years, she made sure he could attend therapy and travel long distances to a special school. But as John grew, getting there became harder and harder without a suitable wheelchair.
Moving from place to place was exhausting. At school, John had to sit in a plastic chair that didn’t support his body well. Staying comfortable—let alone focused on learning—was nearly impossible.
Because of your generosity, John received a properly fitted wheelchair from our local distribution partner, Bethany Kids. Suddenly, he could sit comfortably, move with confidence, and travel to school much more easily.
His mother says the difference has been life-changing. John can finally focus on what he loves most—learning and dreaming about the future. And John says he feels happy, confident, and excited to be back at school.
