Augusto is 19 years old and lives with his family in a modest, one-story home in Guatemala that is made of cinder blocks and concrete floors. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and cannot walk independently.

His mother, Rosario, and his two siblings take turns caring for him. Ever since Augusto’s father passed away, Rosario has been the sole provider for their family, working each day while her children remain at home.

When Rosario brought Augusto to a mobility clinic held by our local distribution partner, Faith in Practice, he received a new GEN 3 wheelchair, carefully fitted just for him.

With proper support and comfort, new possibilities opened up. Rosario is hopeful that this new wheelchair will make it possible for Augusto to return to school—and even accompany her to work.

“This wheelchair is a blessing and a gift from God,” Rosario shared.
