It’s just about lunchtime here at our FWM offices and we thought you might be hungry for a little inspiration.
We love all of our Ambassadors for Mobility and today we want to highlight a very special group of kids from Sutherland Elementary in San Dimas, CA who dedicated their “Make a Difference Day” during Red Ribbon Week to raising money for Free Wheelchair Mission–and they made a huge difference!
Sutherland parent and FWM Ambassador Angelisa Herrera got the students motivated to give, asking each child to bring in a quarter to help give someone a wheelchair. Many students went beyond that and brought spare change in every day–Angelisa’s son, Cristian, even donated $20 from his own savings!
At the end of the week the grand total came out to about $190–Angelisa donated extra funds to give three wheelchairs AND, thanks to The Match, those three wheelchairs were doubled to six!
To all of the Sutherland Students and Angelisa, thank you so much for your support–thanks to your generosity six people that don’t have a wheelchair are getting one!
