Though Las Cruces, NM was fiery hot as far as the weather was concerned, it didn’t keep people away from enjoying the amazing festivities planned which included folklorico dancers, mariachi bands, a native Indian dance, singers, magicians, a bounce house, and good food for the 2^nd Annual Fajita Fiesta in the Mesilla Plaza.

The 5^th annual Run for Mobility did not disappoint! Over 400 athletes participating in Huntington Beach’s Surf City USA® Marathon choose to help raise funds for wheelchairs.

Thanks to the enthusiasm of our supporters, the FWM Matching Gift Challenge lifted 4,672 people into a brand-new wheelchair, mobilizing them for a future filled with possibility, opportunity...and hope.

The first ever Free Wheelchair Mission Midwest Run for Mobility got off to a great start Saturday, August 8^th, 2009 in O’Fallon, MO. Coordinated by volunteer extraordinaire Terri Page, her family, and a small army of volunteers, the 5K race and one-mile fitness walk drew over 120 participants.

Thanks to 21 local pastors, celebrities and community leaders risking their egos and bodily harm at the 2009 Pastors’ Challenge on Saturday, July 18, the Free Wheelchair Mission received more than $12, 000! The donations will provide over 230 innovative, low-cost wheelchairs for people in the developing world who are crawling on the ground or waiting to be carried.

From New Mexico, Ambassador for Mobility Dennis Prickett and his amazing team of volunteers have stoked a flurry of excitement in this dynamic southwestern town –  after a weekend of events, the people of Las Cruces have raised funds for an entire container of wheelchairs designated for the people of Mexico!
