Princesses Create Art for a Cause
Brett Rubbico, abstract artist and principal gallerist of Brett Rubbico Gallery on Old Newport Boulevard in Newport Beach, was thrilled with what he hopes to be the first annual art show of the girls of the Macatawa tribe of Indian Princesses. The show gave the young girls the opportunity to participate in a creative project that included professional art instruction and the experience of having their paintings exhibited in a professional commercial gallery, while at the same time raising funds for Free Wheelchair Mission.

Wheelchair Project Teaches Students, Helps Mission… Columbus, Ohio, December, 7, 2011 – Students at Ohio State University recently teamed up with Free Wheelchair Mission to do a project for their Humanitarian Engineering Seminar. The students were asked to assess the assembly experience and evaluate the design for use of “appropriate technology” involving the consideration of affordability, durability, maintainability, cultural acceptability, and ease of use.

Free Wheelchair Mission's "Magic of Mobility" Fundraiser Nets $1 Million Free Wheelchair Mission's 10th anniversary "Magic of Mobility" fundraiser, held at the Hilton Orange County in Costa Mesa on July 26th, drew 567 guests and posted more than $1 million in net proceeds. "Orange County-Based Charity Teams Up With SunPower Corp. to Distribute Wheelchairs in the Philippines" International nonprofit organization Free Wheelchair Mission recently teamed up with solar energy pioneer SunPower Corporation for a humanitarian project in the Philippines. Earlier this month, the partnership distributed approximately 1,100 wheelchairs to people with disabilities living in the region.
