"Boise man wants your help delivering more wheelchairs to people in developing countries"
George Hage once watched hundreds of people, one after another, crawl and drag themselves to receive a gift of mobility: a wheelchair.
"I have never seen such joy," Hage said. "I've never seen joy like I've seen in Uganda when people got off the ground for the first time."
Through an organization called Free Wheelchair Mission, the price of a nice dinner or a concert ticket - $51.29 - is all it takes to build, ship and deliver a wheelchair to solve that need.
On Saturday, the Idaho affiliate of Free Wheelchair Mission, called Idaho Believes, is hosting its second celebrity race in those wheelchairs to show Boiseans the ingenious, inexpensive chairs and raise money for more of them.
