Greetings and Happy Friday!

June 24, 2005

Here are some highlights of the past week:

  • Containers of wheelchairs (550 each) left for Chile, Fiji and Costa Rica.
  • Ticket sales are picking up for our July 26 event, and our warehouse fills with auction items. Please pray for our staff and many volunteers and supporters who are putting their hearts into making this a grand event.

This story comes from our friendMaria and Julio
Steve Colon in Chile:

On the left we have Maria Jose Tello. She is disabled, as you can see. She was appointed by the Mayor as the Director of the Community of La Cisterna for all the programs for disabled people. She is an incredible young person and does an amazing job organizing all sorts of activities for the disabled. She is a big help to us finding all the disabled people in her community that need wheelchairs. Maria is also active visiting every person that needs a chair and really encourages them. She is a real angel.

On the right is Julio Toledo who is 74 years old. He has diabetics, and because of his sickness, he had his leg amputated. Julio said he was praying for a wheel chair so that he could go outside from his house like before, a long time ago.

Thanks again and may God bless you for caring.
