| This story is from a recent
Mission Trip to San Pedro Sula Honduras: |
Two weeks ago Jane Harvey,
Deborah Sakach, and staff member Angela Gomez visited our
Distribution Partner Primera Iglesia Evangelica y
Reformada (PIER). This
story is about eighteen year old Miguel. His mother didn’t
know what his disability was and has never owned a wheelchair.
All his life he had been carried by friends and family but
as he got older and heavier he didn’t get out very
much. Miguel was extremely happy when he was lifted off the
ground and moving on his own. He was so excited that a wheelchair
race was organized and he was the big winner! After
winning he was asked what will you do now that you can get
around on your own? He replied ecstatically, “I
can now go to church with my new wheelchair!”
