Greetings and Happy Easter!  Here are some highlights of the week:
  • Two containers arrived in Viet Nam.
  • Containers are in route to Uganda, Ecuador, Laos, Honduras, Mexico and Guatemala.  Ten containers are on the way to Peru, as they hope to distribute all 6000 wheelchairs on June 3!
  • The following story comes from our partners Grace and Steven of FEDES in Chile.  They brought to us a new way to bless the poorest of the poor.

I was in prison and you came to visit me.  Matthew 25:36

Steven and Grace found out that there was a need for wheelchairs at the Puente Alto Jail.  The National Director of Jails in Chile agreed to let them help.  He decided it was time to honor their physically disabled prisoners.  He had the Jail Police Band perform for the prisoners and other government officials during the wheelchair distribution ceremony.  Here is just one of Steven’s stories about that event:

Jose has diabetes, is blind, and years ago they amputated one of his legs.   He was detained at a bank robbery 8 years ago. He received the Lord at the jail and his life has really changed. He shared his testimony with us.   He was so sad of what he did and the consequences.  Such a sweet man, he’s been in need of a wheelchair for 4 years.   Most of the time he has been in bed not being able to come out of his jail cell.   You can’t imagine how happy he was to receive his new wheelchair. He was thanking the Lord during the entire ceremony and until we left.
