Greetings and Happy Friday!  Here are some highlights of the past week:

  • We continue to reach out for donors in new cities. This week we had a radiothon with KPDQ in Portland, OR. Next Thursday we return to LA’s own KKLA for our 2nd radiothon there, 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Tune in and listen, 99.5 FM.
  • Containers left for Peru, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.
  • A container arrived in Dominican Republic.

This story comes from our partner Richard of the Malawi Project:

Malawi MapForty-six-year old Namateni lives in Kawamba Village, in the area of Mponela in Dowa District. This is the first district north of the capital city of Lilongwe, Malawi, Central Africa.

Namateni was able to walk until 1994 when she became very sick. Her legs were paralyzed and she was no longer able to get around except to crawl and her hands and knees. Her husband divorced her because she could not walk. He left her with two children.

Namteni can now provide for her familyNamateni came to our Blessings mission to get a wheelchair.  She asked me to tell you this story:

"When my husband divorced me I thought I am a useless person, but today I have realized there are good people who care about me. You are heroes to me. May God bless you so that you can do the same for other people. I have been struggling to raise support for my children.  I am now sure this wheelchair will help me support my family.  I would like to inform you that because of you my children will now go to school and in my house I will have enough food and other needs."
