Greetings and Happy Friday!

February 4, 2005
Here are some highlights of the week:
  • Our first two containers for tsunami victims arrived in Chennai, India. They will be distributed by our World Vision partners.
  • Our second container to the Philippines arrived this week.

This story comes from Pastor Jonathan of Camino de Vida Church in Peru:

Jonathan tells us that because of the excitement of our wheelchairs, his church opened their Center for Rehabilitation, supported by volunteer physical therapists in Lima. They offer free services at their church!

"On Sunday November 14th people from all over Southern Peru were bringing their disabled to a coastal city called Tacna.  They were coming out in droves in all kinds of different ways.  As in these pictures, some came crawling, others in the back of station wagons, and in push carts. They knew that they would be, for the first time in their life, receiving a new shot at life – a new perspective, new opportunities, and renewed hope.

One hundred disabled individuals came that day to receive a free wheelchair.  It is such an honor and a privilege to be able to serve those whom God has created. Each one of these wheelchairs demonstrates the love of Jesus for every human being.  These wheelchairs were not the only gift that was given that day.  The opportunity to receive an everlasting gift was offered as well – the gift of having a relationship with the Creator of the Universe.

Thank you so much for your Partnership in this effort to give 2 wonderful gifts, the gifts of physical liberty and spiritual freedom.

Please pray for our upcoming events in Nuevo Chimbote and in Amazonas, one in the Northern Coast of Peru and the other deep in the Peruvian jungle.  Hundreds more individuals will also get the same opportunity to receive 2 very needed and very important gifts!"
