of the Week: Tori Coyle |
You
already know that you meet the most interesting people
when you get involved with organizations like Free
Wheelchair Mission. People who selflessly
do things for others are such a joy to meet and be around. We're
looking forward to seeing Don Schoendorfer, Founder of Free
Wheelchair Mission, Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah, and Peggy Fleming
at our upcoming "Wheels Around the World" pre-race
dinner. Here's another person with passion whom we can
look forward to meeting. Tori Coyle.
Tori is flying in from Dallas to run the Marathon. It will
be her 12th. Of these 12 marathons, she's only run two
on her own without a cause. She was involved with "Fred's Team" through
Memorial Sloan Kettering (Pediatric Cancer) in NYC for three
years and is joining the "Michael J. Fox Team" (Parkinsons)
in NY next fall. Last spring she ran the LA Marathon for "Breast
Care and Cancer Research Fund" after finding out her best friend
had breast cancer. She's always looking for a passion and a "reason" to
run.
After reading about "Run for Mobility" and talking with our Race
Event Manager, she was so touched by this cause and this mission,
that she signed up as a fundraiser. As she says, "I'm so glad
to only be a flight away from making a difference." We
welcome Tori to the almost 300 other fundraisers who've signed
up to "make a difference". |
